Day 1: Arequipa City
Reception of passengers and transfer to the accommodation
Activity summary
In the afternoon we will do a pedestrian circuit and have the opportunity to visit ancient Arequipa, know a little of its history through its traditional neighborhoods, narrow streets where we will see the houses and churches most emblematic of the city. These monuments with their walls and vaults give us experiences and sensations of a particular style of life.
Visit to the traditional neighborhood of SAN LAZARO, with an Andalusian style of small streets, squares, passages and old houses. It emphasizes its church and a small bridge made of sillar (white volcanic stone). Walking we arrive at the BARRIO DEL SOLAR where walking through its narrow streets we will feel like back in time; Then the TAMBO MATADERO built during the second half of the 17th century alongside the Chili River, used for the slaughter of animals and tannery, the main building comprises three levels that take advantage of the unevenness between the street and the river side; Finally we will visit the TAMBO DE LA CABEZONA located next to the old Royal Street (now calle Bolognesi). Its architecture built entirely with sillar incorporates neoclassical and republican elements, built in the sixteenth century. Here was one of the first mills of the city. Unforgettable experience!

Day 2: Arequipa / Sillar Route / Monastery Santa Catalina

Departure to Cerro Colorado District, transfer to the Quarries of Añashuayco, where the combination of natural landscape and living culture offers the visitor a unique experience.
Hike through the area of cutters, appreciating the huge cliffs up to 30 meters high worked with combo and chisel, colonial facades and carvings. We will find the artisan workshops of carving of sillar headed by stonecutters, now they are recognized as intangible heritage.
By visiting the workshops you can hear from the cutters voice stories of effort for generations; we will know the process of sillar extraction, cutting and carving, all made with ancestral instruments used from generation to generation by cutters whose ages range between 21 to 80 years old.
The quarry of CULEBRILLAS is a natural canyon formed by the erosion of water and wind whose name is due to its geography, will see the beauty of a "virgin quarry" that when traveling causes sensations of majesty and mystery, there is a space formed by the crossing of roads where are petroglyphs of different forms, which is possible to have influence on the Wari culture.
Return to the city.
In the afternoon we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina de Siena, founded in 1579 and opened to the public in 1970. It occupies an area of approximately 20 thousand square meters, distributed in 6 streets and a passage.
It has rooms and sectors to visit such as: the Locutorio, the Patio del Silencio, the Cloister of the Novices, the Cloister of the Naranjos, the streets Málaga, Córdova, Toledo, Seville, Burgos and Granada, the Cell of Santo Domingo, The Zocodober Square, the Mirador, the Cell of Sor Ana de los Angeles Monteagudo, the Cloister, the Lower Choir, the Church of Santa Catalina and the Pinacoteca.
Day 3: Arequipa / Catedral Museum

In the morning we will have the opportunity to visit the Museum of the Cathedral which exhibits various ornaments and liturgical objects made of metal with precious stones and paintings of the famous Cusco school. We will take a walk through one of the towers of the cathedral; the visitor will be able to observe the White city in a different angle. (The Museum does not open on Sundays) Museum is open from 10:00 a.m.
